Ans . 1. Tendon : A cord of dense regular connective tissue composed of parallel bundle of collagen fibres that attach a muscle to the periosteum of a bone. An example is the calcaneal ( Achilles) tendon of gastrocnemius ( calf) muscle ,which attach to muscle to the calcaneus.

When connective tissue elements extend as a broad , flat layer, the tendon is called aponeurosis.

2. Epimysium :three layers of connective tissue extend from the deep fascia to protect and strengthen skeletal muscle . The outer most layer , encircling the entire muscle is epimysium ( Fibrous elastic tissue ) .

3. Endomysium: connective tissue which covers each muscle fibre or myofiber of muscle cell. Penetrating the interior of each fascicle and seperating individual muscle fibre from one another is endomysium . A thin sheath of areolar connective tissue .

4. Perimysium : connective tissue that surrounds group of 10 to 100 or more muscle fibres , seperating them into bundles called Fascicles. Many Fascicles are large enough to be seen with nacked eye.

both epimysium or perimysium are dense irregular connective tissue .

5. Fascicle: Connective tissue surrounds and protects muscular tissue i.e. Fascia is a sheet or broad band of fibrous connective tissue that supports and surrounds muscles and other organs of the body .

the superficial fascia ( subcutaneous layer of hypodermis) , which seperates muscle from skin .

the deep fascia is dense irregular connective tissue that lines the body wall and limbs and holds muscles with similar function together .
