The concept of human resource management is as old as mankind. However, there are a number of different views regarding what at all, HRM is about, as contradictory and fragmented views have been offered in relation to the issue. For example, some scholars are of the view that HR is all about people, others also argue that HRM is all about the bottom line, while some also contend that HR is all about business. To what extent do you agree or disagree with any of the perspectives?

I believe that every aspect and perspective regarding HR being about people, business or the bottom line, all are correct. Human resource management is the strategy and process where the most important resource of the organisation: human resource is managed and controlled in the most effective manner to make the business achieve the growth and also all the risks and problems of bottom line could be reduced for the fulfilment of the people. I agree that HRM is about people as it is people oriented and work together to fulfilment and the achievement of the employees in the organisation so that they could achieve both personal and professional goals alongside with their organisational goals. This would enable us to motivate them, guide them and lead them for their uplifting and successive performance for growth. On the other hand, I also believe that HRM is about the business. It is about how a business could grow if the humans and people of the organisation could work together and be together for the enrichment and sustainability of the business.
