The concept of human resource management is as old as mankind. However, there are a number of different views regarding what at all, HRM is about, as contradictory and fragmented views have been offered in relation to the issue. For example, some scholars are of the view that HR is all about people, others also argue that HRM is all about the bottom line, while some also contend that HR is all about business. To what extent do you agree or disagree with any of the perspectives?

I agree with the perspective that HRM is all about people, bottom line and to somewhat with the extent of the business. I agree with this concept since HRM is the study of proper management of the people's resources at the workplace. It mainly looks after the overall development of the human resources at their place of work. It starts with the appointment of people in an organization, the way they are trained, adequate compensation are paid, their safety and well being, motivating  their spirits and to see that they are retained in the organization for a long period as a loyal and committed employee of the organization. The key factor of emphasis in HRM is the welfare of the people working in the organization. An organization runs with the help of various resources. HRM deals with the well being of the human factor and to improve their productivity, which in turn will lead to an increase in the productivity, this is the contribution of HRM to the business area.

Human resource management also takes care for the enhancement of the skill sets of the people by uplifting their talents, creativity and helping them to develop a positive attitude towards their work. As the organization takes care of the employee's well being by adapting different HRM practices, the satisfied employee productivity increases as well as their loyalty and commitment towards the organization also increase, which leads to a greater association of the employees with the organization. Every organization functions with the help of human resource and their proper care must be taken for the smooth running of the organization. So, it is the most important factor or bottom line of any business organization.

By employing an effective HRM system, the productivity of the employees automatically rises and this led to increase in the production as well as the organizations  can earn more profit. Without HRM the human resources will not be properly managed and they cannot provide their best to the organization since human beings by nature needs proper care and managed to establish themselves.  So, this is the concept of HRM related to people, bottom line and business.
