The tissue cells are hexagonal having a clear cytoplasm and nucleus is pushed to the periphery. This is the characteristic of Adipose tissue. Adipose tissue is the fat storing tissue. It stores the fats.

Adipose tissue provides protection to nerves, vessels, etc as seen in the thigh region.

Adipose tissue is a good insulator as fats prevent the heat loss.

Adipose tissue is also used to store the fats and other fat soluble vitamins like A, D, E, K. It also stores fat soluble drugs.

Adipose tissue doesn't have any function in contraction. Contraction is the function of another tissue type which is the Muscular tissue. So Option a is the answer.
