Imagine that your business hired a manager who was not from your country, therefore was unfamiliar with the way things were done. The manager has an introductory meeting with the team and has asked that you help with learning the operations as quickly as possible.

A co-worker suggested that in order to get started, the manager should look at the systems documentation. Why do you think your co-worker suggested this and why did he or she not offer to explain it to the new manager?

The Co worker asked to refer the system documentation as it has all the elements that is necessary to explain what the system has, it defines responsibilities of each employee, it defines what are procedures to follow and also what are necessary documents etc to be maintained and hence it helps the new manager to know what he need to do, the approaches he must follow, the extent of his responsibility and of course the documentation or records he has to maintain etc

The Co worker have not offered his/her guidance as it may consume the co workers time, there may be different responsibilities that what the co worker performing, there may be communication gap and moreover the system documentation will have more detailed explanation
