what is anaerobic respiration? why do farmers flood the fields with growing rice?
Anaerobic means the absence of oxygen . Anaerobic respiration means where the cells do not breath oxygen release from the fuel to power their life functioms. Molecular oxygen is the most electro negative molecule in the biological systems so it can accept the electrons efficiently however some other oxidizers so that they evolve in such a way to do their life functions with out oxygen. Though in case of anaerobic respiration the organism produce less number of ATP as compare to aerobic respiration from electron transport chain. Many bacteria and archaea perfrom use anaerobic respiration. Other organisms perfrom their respiration depending upon the presence of oxygen .
One of the good reason of flooding the rice field is to avoid the weeds , the water layer supress the weeds. Rice is a semi aquatic plant. This unique property of soil make the difference between rice and other crops . High flooding can retain the nutrients of the soil and the field can recieve the free biological nitrogen so that no need to use the nitrogen fertilizer or little use of nitrogen fertilizer. Also flooding makes the ploughing of the rice field easier.
what is anaerobic respiration? why do farmers flood the fields with growing rice?
Explain aerobic respiration versus anaerobic respiration in terms of the amount of ATP produced. In what scenario is anaerobic respiration performed? Explain why fermentation is required during anaerobic respiration? Where does aerobic respiration take place in the cell?
What is the difference between aerobic and anaerobic respiration? How does anaerobic respiration relate to fermentation? And what is the role of bacteria in bread making?
The cellular respiration can occur with (aerobic) or without (anaerobic) the presence of oxygen. Under what condition might our own cells use anaerobic respiration and why?
a. Use a demand/supply diagram to discuss why rice farmers may not benefit from a technological improvement in producing rice. b. Use a demand/supply diagram to discuss why producers for luxury goods may benefit from a technological improvement in producing the goods.
How do farmers in Kenya help themselves make money from broken rice?
Why might you expect facultative anaerobes to accomplish anaerobic respiration in peptone-iron agar deeps when they are not incubated in an anaerobic chamber?
What molecule accumulates during anaerobic respiration that causes muscle burning?
If a cell is able to use both aerobic and anaerobic respiration, it can regenerate ____________ (what electron carrier?) and produce a minimum of 2 ATP per glucose, which allows the cell to __________. Which method would it utilize if oxygen is present and why? Which method would it utilize if oxygen is not present and why?
Biology Help. 1) Do animals carry out aerobic cellular respiration? Explain your answer. 2) Why are boiled beans metabolically inactive? Why are non-germinated beans metabolically inactive? 3) If you observe the production of CO2 as a waste gas, can you determine if the organism is carrying out aerobic respiration or anaerobic fermentation? Explain your answer. 4) What interaction occurs between Water & Carbon Dioxide? How can you observe this interaction? Thanks.
