The first such theory is the Maslow's hierarchy of needs which
is the most widely known theories of motivation. It categorizes
needs into five categories:
1. Physiological:
2. Safety and security
3. Belonging and love
4. Self-esteem
5. Self actualization
The theory determines what will motivate someone based on what
stage a person is in. For example someone grappling with poverty
can be motivated with physiological rewards like food, shelter,
sleep. Once a person has this, he will require safety and security
then moving on to belonging and love. The fourth state if
self-esteem and the pinnacle is self-actualization.
Once a person reaches a certain level, he or she would be motivated
to reach the next level. The first four are deficiency needs and
the last one self-actualization is a growth need.
The second such theory is McClelland- Need for achievement,
affiliation and power
This theory is inspired by the Maslow's theory and is often called
them Learned Needs Theory. As per this theory there are three
motivators which transcend age or gender. Achievement talks about a
need to accomplish and demonstrate success and skill.
Affiliation talks about need for love, belonging and relatedness.
the third and last motivator is power whcih is a need to control-
both self and others.
The third theory is the Herzberg- Two factor theory.
This theory talks about two factors- motivating factors- that cause
job satisfaction and some hygiene factors which cause
dissatisfaction. The job satisfiers deal with factors involved in
doing the job, while the dissatisfactors talk about the context of
the job. Hygiene factors include salary workplace conditions,
safety etc and anything unsuitable across these cause
dissatisfaction. The job satisfaction factors include achievement,
recognition at work, responsibility and advancement.
No matter which theory we use, it is often difficult to determine how to motivate others. This is because the person is never at one single state and there are conflicting factors at play. Further, this factor can change with time quickly and what mix of motivating inputs will provide the best results is fairly indeterminable.

Identify and describe three different theories of motivation? Why is it difficult to determine how to motivate other people?
The compound NH3 is a base by the theories we discussed in class. However, each of the theories describes what a base is in different terms. Use your knowledge of these theories to describe NH3 as an Arrhenius base and a Brønsted-Lowry base. 3) Write an equation for the reaction of magnesium metal with hydrochloric acid
Researchers have developed a number of theories to explain motivation, and each theory contributes to a better understanding of motivation. In this module, you have read about drive reduction and arousal theory, behavioral and social-cognitive theories, and Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. In this activity, you will write a 3-5 page essay that discusses different theories of motivation. Objectives: Describe how psychologists define and classify motivation, and evaluate various theories that explain motivation. Discuss eating behavior, eating disorders, and factors that...

To begin, please identify the three different classifications of burns. Next, please identify and describe in your own words how the surrounding tissues and underlying structures are affected by each class of burn. Finally, please post an image that illustrates each class of burn to further support your analysis.
Identify and describe developmental and teaching/learning theory/theories used and why they are appropriate to the learners you targeted.
Discussing moral hazard, identify the theories discussed in the unit’s required reading and how they applied to the global financial collapse of 2008.
Most motivation theories in use today were developed in the United States by Americans and about Americans. Of those that were not, many have been strongly influenced by American theories. But several motivation theories do not apply to all cultures. For example, Maslow’s theory does not often hold outside the United States. In countries higher on uncertainty avoidance (such as Greece and Japan) as compared with those lower on uncertainty avoidance (such as the United States), security motivates employees more...
Select three specific theories (not category of theory) discussed in previous chapters. Using the theories you have chosen, provide a description of the theory and an explanation for how each theory can explain the actions of drug offenders or sex offenders. Title you initial posting with Drug or Sex Offenders so it is clear from the onset which category you are writing about.
