1 Mole of glucose produces 38 moles of ATP by aerobic metabolism.

ATP when hydrolyzed in to ADP , produces -46 K J/ mole energy

So catabolism of 1 mole of glucose produces :

38 \times -46 K j = 1748 K J /mole of glucose.

So one mole of glucose will produce 1748 K J

The negative energy shown in the equation is because the reaction is spontaneous or exergonic reaction (energy is getting released) .
