Answer #1

Since, C has small size than Cl hence C-C bond length is small as compared to C-Cl bond length which is smaller than Cl-Cl bond length. Bond length is inversely proportional to bond energy. Thus, order of bond energy is :

Cl-Cl < C-Cl < C-C

Since, C-Cl bond is polar hence it is stronger than nonpolar bonds C-C and Cl-Cl hence it's bond energy is higher than average.

Answer is 339 KJ/mol
