Prokaryotes (without nuclear membrane) are the single celled ubiquitous organisms which are with different shapes in their colonies such as spiral, rod etc. These considered as ubiquitous due to the reason that they can exit and live in extreme environments and they survive by utilizing sulfur, carbon dioxide, nitrite, cellulose and ammonia. They can survive at extreme PH, low temperature and high temperatures also.

For example Cyanobacteria, which is a photosynthetic bacteria synthesize it’s nutrients by photosynthesis, its habitat is both terrestrial, freshwater and also at desert regions. A few of them lives as endosymbiont in lichens to derive their nutrients.
