Answer -

The fluorescent dye used in electrophoresis because it binds to the DNA after which it will be placed in trans illuminator which will show the DNA strands as bright bands(it is due to the property of non protein molecules which absorb light and re emit with longer wavelength). This results in visualizing the DNA.
