The release of political prisoners is an important responsibility that we all should take upon us . Many governments still hold political prisoners and such prisoners are denied basic human rights such as access to legal counsel, right to free speech and expression and right to life and liberty. It is shameful that inspite of all the progress that has taken place in the last few centuries, we still face the grim reality of governments holding political prisoners. There are vast number of political prisoners in middle east countries, in African countries etc. The challenge that faces us is to get these prisoners released so that they can live life with dignity and respect.

It is important that we exert pressure on our respective governments and highlight the issue of political prisoners to our respective governments. This in turn will help develop awareness of the conditions that these political prisoners are living and thereby our respective governments can exert pressure on the governments who are holding political prisoners.

This will definitey compell the nations that keep political prisoners to take some action and we can hope that the people held by governments are released and these people can finally lead a life of dignity and respect.
