Discuss a time when you had to be the "bearer of bad news." This can be in your academic, professional, or personal life. What strategies did you use? Is there anything in the reading that you wish you would have known/done in that situation?

Answer #1

When we have to deliver a bad news we need to make it as smooth as possible so that the people receiving the news are prepared to whatever they are about to listen. We need to take it slow and make them prepared. In personal cases we need to explain the them the circumstances that led to the news and then slowly reveal the news. In professional life we need to maintain our posture and convey the news with proper language and timing. We need to use smooth language and make the situation calm before revealing anything. We cannot go with written things in these situations because the situations will be different for every one and one cannot do the same the other did in some other situation. We need to go by our instincts.
