Answer #1

Q1. Answer.

Option a. The cell membrane is the right answer. The cell membrane is called the plasma membrane which separates the interior contents of the cell with the external environment. The cell membrane consists of lipid bilayer including cholesterols which controls the fluidity of the membrane at different temperatures. The cell membrane is selectively permeable to ions and organic substances as it controls the movement of the substances in and out of cell and the organelles

The other options are incorrect because:

Cytoplasm is a gel-like fluid composed of water and salt which fills the cells and is enclosed within the cell membrane. It is responsible for providing shape to the cells.

Cell wall is a tough, fibrous and rigid structure surrounding the cells outside the cell membrane which is responsibl for providing structural rigidity and protection and acts as a filtering mechanism. This helps to distinguish between plant cell and animal cell.

Nucleus is a largest membrane bound organelle within the cell consisting of the genetic material (DNA) of the eukaryotic organism and serves as teh information and administration center of the cell. It is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the cell by facilitating the transcription and replication processes.

Q.2. Answer.

Option A Native species is the right answer. Native species are present naturally without human interference in a particular region and co-evolved with the native insects and wildlife as they are adapted to the climate and the soil of the given region. They are critical to the functions of ecosystem

Other options are incorrect because

Invasive non-aggressive species are exotic plants that have been transported across geographic areas via humans, climatic change or events or by migrant birds. These plants have minimal or no negative effects on the ecosystem

Invasive aggressive species exist because of human-caused disturbances and are grow and reprduce rapidly competing the other plant species. They alter the ecosystem and cause economic, environmental harm and can be harmful to human health.

Q3. Answer

Option C True is the correct answer. Tactile discrimination ability to differentiate stimuli through touch. The most common test i.e. the two point discrimation is a test to determine the minimum distance between two points to percieve two distinct stimuli. This is determined by density of the receptors and the size of the neuronal fields. The higher the number of receptors i.e. density the better will be the perception of the distance of discrimination. Fingertips require very little distance than the forearm because it contains 3-4 times higher density than the hand. Hence, there is a link between the number of receptors and the distance of discrimination while performing the tactile discrimination experment.

Q4. Answer

Option B Squamous epithelial cells is the right answer. Epithelial cells are one of the basic type of animal tissue that lines the outer surfaces of the organs, blood vessels and also the inner surfaces of internal organs. Squamous epithelium is found lining the skin, alveoli of the lung and the specialized squamous lines the cavities in blood vessels like endothelium, percardium and other body cavities. The main function is to protect the tissues from radiation, toxins, pathogen invasions and physical injuries.

Other options are incorrect because

Muscle cells are soft, long and fibrous substances make up the muscle tissue namely skeletal, cardiac and smooth muscles. They are largely important for muscle contraction.

Cartilage is a tough and flexible connective tissue which composes about 60-80% of water which decreases with age and gel like substance called the matrix. Matrix consists of specialized proteins namely collagens, proteoglycans and non-collagenous proteins. Main function of cartilage is to connect bones together and is mainly found in rib cage, ear, nose, throat and between the bones of the neck.

Nerve cells also called as the neurons is the electrical circuit of the cells. These cells communicates and sends information from the central nervous system to other cells with the help of specialized connection called the synapses.
