Workplace health and safety can be described as multidisciplinary field that involves mitigation and assessments of risks which might impact safety, welfare and health of workers or employees at workplace. It may also include safety and health of visitors, suppliers, contractors, volunteers, and customers who are present at the workplace.

(b)

Engineers are involved in workplace health and safety in a following way:

  • Engineers in health and safety department designs environment, processes, systems and procedures in order to reduce the potential problems at workplace.
  • They make a bridge to fill the gap between R&D, engineering and health &safety for promoting good practices at workplace.
  • Engineers used to consult the trainers in the field of health & safety in order to have suggestions about the improvements and system designed for workplace.
