Answer #1

1.True-

Dystrophin is a rod-shaped cytoplasmic protein, and a vital part of a protein complex that connects the cytoskeleton of a muscle fiber to the surrounding extracellular matrix through the cell membrane .

Muscular dystrophy is caused by genetic mutations that interfere with the production of muscle proteins that are needed to build and maintain healthy muscles. It is caused by mutations in the DMD gene, resulting in deficiency or absence of functional dystrophin

2.Perlecan

Perlecan is a large multidomain proteoglycan that binds to and cross-links many extracellular matrix (ECM) components and cell-surface molecules.

All others Laminin, collagen,Integrin are ECM proteins.

Dystrophin is a protein that forms part of a vital protein complex that connects the cytoskeleton of a muscle fiber cell to the extracellular matrix. This connection strengthens and shapes the muscle fibers. Dystrophin is coded by the DMD gene. This is one of the longest human genes known, covering 2,300,000 base pairs (0.08% of the human genome) It is located in chromosome 21. The immature mRNA is 2,100,000 bases long and takes 16 hours to transcribe. It contains 79...

Question 78 Which of the following statements about the cytoskeleton is TRUE? All eukaryotic cells have actin, microtubules, and intermediate filaments in their cytoplasm The cytoskeleton provides a rigid and unchangeable structure important for the shape of the cell. The three cytoskeletal filaments perform distinct tasks in the cell and act completely independently of one another Actin filaments and microtubules have an inherent polarity, with a plus end that grows more quickly than the minus end С.
