Use the following genetic map, where the numbers indicate map units between adjacent loci : a---15 cM---b---5 cM---c---20 cM---d---30 cM---e, to answer the question. What is the frequency of gametes with the genotype aBCDe from a completely heterozygous individual with the genotype ABCDE / abcde?

Recombination frequency is the distance between two genes in the same chromosomes in centi Morgan's. If the distance is less, it is more likely that the genes are linked and recombination don't happen between them. If genes are far apart say 50cM, there is high chance theat they recombine to produce recombinant progenies.

Here recombination happen between a and b and d and e. There is recombination frequency of 15% between a and b and 30% between d and e.
