Answer #1

4) answer will be d option i.e 31 mu or morgen unit

Total distance of t-e gene is 15+25+9+12= 61mu

Now after crossing between t-e two type gametes will form one will be T-E while another one is t-e so each one has 61/2 = 30.5 mu

So recombination frequency for T-E is 30.5 mu and T- e is also 30.5 mu

Here in question its asked for T-E which is 30.5 ~31mu so answe will be d option.

Hope its clear..thanks

Question 1 (10 pts). Ilne genetic linkage among 3 gene loci in norses is being stuaiea. ine loci are part of autosomal chromosomes and they MIGHT be on the same pair of homologous chromosomes. There are two alleles at each locus. At the coat color locus, allele B is for black, and b is for white. At the height locus, allele H is for tall, and h is for short. At the tail locus, allele T is for long, and...

This plant is crossed to a tester plant (which has white flowers and small leaves). The progeny is as follows: 23 Red, large 25 White, small 230 Red, small 235 White, large What can be concluded about the linkage relationship of the loci in the dihybrid parent? 1) You have two human liver cells (A and B) and you hypothesize that the insulin receptor gene in Cell A has a mutation in exon 1 and Cell B contains the wild type sequence.  You extract genomic DNA from each of the cells.  Of the following, what would be the most efficient (quick, precise and relatively cheap) way to test your hypothesis. a. Isolate protein from both cells, purify the insulin receptor, and determine the amino acid content. b. Sequence the...

(9 points) You are interested in studying recombination frequencies in wasps. You identify a queen that is heterozygous at three different loci on chromosome 5: G, H, and R. As queen wasps can produce haploid male offspring without fertilizing their eggs, you decide to look only at the genotypes of her male offspring in your analysis. Below is a list of the genotypes of her male offspring, and the number of individuals that fall into each genotypic class. 92 168...
