Answer #1

If the diameter of the field (circle) is 9mm, then the radius (r) is 4.5 mm.

Thus, the area of the circle = \pi \cdot r^{2} = 3.14 * (4.5)2 = 3.14 * 4.5 * 4.5 = ‭63.585‬ mm2

Now, 1 mm = 103 \mu m

=> ‭63.585‬ mm2 = 63.585 * (103 \mu m )2 = 63.585 * 106 \mu m^{2}

Thus, the area of the circle in Micrometre2 is 63.585 * 106 \mu m^{2}

    Help please! 1. Measure the blind spot by closing your right eye, fixating on the X, and move your head closer or further until you can get the circle to disappear. Then do some geometry to find the visual angle of the blind spot. Measure the distance from the X to the center of the circle. Then measure the distance of the X from your left eye when the circle has disappeared. Now compute the visual angle as seen in...

    Instructions: Below are both crater images (some of the work is already done for you on the Southern image). At the bottom left you will see scale bars and a set of circles to help you do the actual counting. We have already identified craters that are 8 km across with red dots, so you only need to worry about craters greater than the outlined ones. Do not recount those craters that have already been marked with red dots. To...
