1.) It is a rare genetic disorder, which is inherited in autosomal recessive manner. In this disorder, body cannot break down certain amino acids- leucine, isoleucine, and valine .

2.) Manifestation of maple syrup urine disease are-

*a distinctive maple syrup odor in urine, sweat and earwax.

* High pitched cry

* Alternating episodes of hypotonia and hypertonia

3.) This is because of the smaller gene pools and higher rate of inbreeding.
