I learnt that the number of unpaired electrons that Sulphur atom has is 2. Can you please let me know why? I was thinking it was 4 based on the electron configuration

Since the electron configuration is [Ne]3s2 33p6 , we would have 4 spins up. The unpaired spinup is equal to the number of unpaired electrons Is this reasoning accurate
