Answer #1

1. An individual suffering from turner's syndrome is always a female. And it is given that it is also having colour blindness. And both the parents are normal. So the mother parent will be the career of colour blind gene so that this affected chromosome is passed on to the doctor.

The nondisjunction of chromosome will occur during meiosis 1 during the formation of gametes in father. This is because the daughter will receive the X chromosome carrying the mutated colorblind green from the mother so she will get no gamete from the father.

2.

A couple has a daughter with Turner syndrome, a condition in which only a single copy of the X chromosome is present. This results from nondisjunction, the failure of the X chromosome to segregate properly during meiosis. During which meiotic division, and in which parent, could nondisjunction have occurred to produce a child with this condition? Meiosis I in the mother Meiosis II in the mother Meiosis I in the father Meiosis II in the father

A human zygote (a fertilized human egg) has an abnormal sex chromosome genotype of XO meaning that the zygote only has a single X chromatid and no other sex chromosomes. This abnormal genotype could have resulted from (note: to earn full credit you must correctly select ALL that are possible for resulting in an XO zygote). -a single nondisjunction event in meiosis I in the female parent -a single nondisjunction event in meiosis II in the female parent -a single...

Observation: Sex Chromosome Anomalies A female with Turner syndrome (XO) has only one sex chromosome, an X chromosome; the O signifies the absence of the second sex chromosome. Because the ovaries never become functional, these females do not undergo puberty or menstruation, and their breasts do not develop. Generally, females with Turner syndrome have a short build, folds of skin on the back of the neck, difficulty recognizing various spatial patterns, and normal intelligence. With hormone supplements, they can lead...

Both of her parents have normal color vision. This women's karyotype and genotype could have arisen by: a) a mutation in her mother's X-chromosome b) non-disjunction in mitosis c) non-disjunction in meiosis 1 in her father d) non-disjunction in meiosis 2 in her mother e) non-disjunction in meiosis 1 in her mother 10.
