Fish started out in the water but then developed traits that helped them adapt to live on land. Tiktaalik is an example of this because this creature is an inbetween of land and water living. Have any vertebrates gone back to the water after the transition to land?

No, tetrapods are usually accousmted live on the land, which is because they can get more food and easily escape from predators. Apart from this, evolution takes place in a unidirectional way, so once if species find better way to live then they will stick to that environment and adapt. Never go back to other environments with lot of complications.
