Answer #1

Based on the colony morphology desceription, you can fill the chart. As bacterial diversity is huge and as it is not possible to determine the bacterial species from just by seeing its morphology, you can put any permutation-combination in the chart. But, remember that variation in colony morphologies will be higher in the environmental sample than the body sample.

However, I am writing the answers for the 3 question provided.

Q 1. Environmental sample has the most bacteria. Depending on the type of environment, there may be different types of bacteria present due to presence of multiple micro-environments. Like, in lab sink, there are different types of bacteria in different levels of lab sink. But, for body sample, number of micro environment is less, much less. So, bacterial diversity (measured by plate colony morphology) will be much less.'

Q2. Environmental sample has had more bacteria than body sample. Reason being, lab sink has previous exposure to many different types of bacteria and the number of microenvironments in any environment is high.

Q3: Obviously, plate technique provided more information. Broth when inoculated with different samples, became turbid after hours of incubation. Thus, proving that the environment had any bacteria or not. On the other hand, plates had shown different types of bacteria and their colony morphology.
