Imagine a chipmunk has such an aggressive virus that by watching a video of it you have a 10% chance of contracting it. If you assume that the virus existed, and that you could isolate and purify proteins from it, what kind of test could tell you whether or not you and your friends had also been exposed? Describe the steps involved in that test.

The best way to identify these virus load in human body is ELISA test.

First you have to create a coated ELISA plate using the isolated protein from the virus. these protein is the antigen. Now you collect your own Blood and collect blood from your friends. Isolate the sera from the blood. Now do the ELISA test using the serum. with one negetive control sera ( serun from distance person, who never exposed to this virus).

If you and your friends is exposed to these virus then your body will generate antibody aginst it, and the level of antibody in the sera can be mesured by the ELISA reader.

(Note: you have to use anti-Human secondary antibody for the detection in ELISA reader)
