We can solve this problem by two methods:- 1. Instantaneous centre method 2. Relative velocity method (which is more precise and I have solved this problem by this method) • Steps to find answer (VB) 1. Draw given mechanism using appropriate scale (You may scale up or down according to your convenience ) 2. Name the joints and show the angular velocity of driver.(here it is Won=3 rad/sec) 3. Show the direction of linear velocity (VAO, VAB ,V80) which are perpendicular to corresponding link. 4. Find Vao rangular velocity of AO * length of AB=3*6=18 inch/sec 5. Draw line parallel to Vao (with direction). Assuming any scale (I have used 70mm=18inch/sec) 6. As B is sliding, it will have linear velocity in the same direction.
