Skill gaps

Skill gaps can be defined as differences in what the employers want and what skills the employees can demonstrate. There are increasing cases where people with expertise in the STEM fields, science technology, education as well as maths, with a decrease in soft skills such as communication as well as leadership skills.

This skill gaps mostly occur due to the lack of education on the part of the employees, who do not think that education is of major importance as there occurs a mismatch between the education that is being Imparted to the students in the colleges, in comparison to what the market and the labour actually demands. This results in the US markets looking outside for the skilled workforce. Skills gap can be remedied if students begin to attain greater knowledge in the high demand areas such as engineering and other technical fields including medical. Nor are the students today encouraged or motivated enough to feel that they should become leaders in tomorrow’s day. Rather they believe in earning sooner in their life, rather than gaining proper education, and this is where the root cause of the problem lies,

This thought needs to be reshaped such that the importance of proper education and its impact on job opportunities is realised by the upcoming students.
