Piaget theory and information processing theory are diffrent to each other in some extent . Piaget theory considered Cognitive development is biological factor and it has fixed in certain age. But information processing theory leads to continuous pattern of development. Piaget describe intellectual develoment in four stage like sensory motor stage , pre-operational stage , concrete operational stage and formal operational stage . But the information processing theory proposed that human develop intellectuality and process information like computer . It acquired information through perception in sensory then short term and finally long term memory .
Information processing includes some developmental changes concept like memory , thinking , metacognition , awarness and understanding about own thinking . Memory has funtion to encode and retrival information . But in piaget theory , only formal operational stage can show Cognitive stage . Reversibility , animistic thinking , ego centric , conversion etc concept has developed in piaget theory .
