18. According to Richard Schmidt's Schema theory, for a movement or action to occur, the need of some generalized rules stored in memory is needed which will direct the spatial and temporal muscle reactions. Schmidt's theory took into account some hypothesis, among which one important hypothesis is that when an action is practised in diverse ways, there are more chances of that action or experience been stored as a Schema. For example, when a person acts in a particular way in various situations, we can form a Schema based of that person which can be generalized in terms of that behaviour but if the behaviour was constantly shown in a specific situation, then the Schema would have faced an error due to possible situational factor. Thus, variability of practice will facilitate schema formation. Thus, the correct answer is Option a.
