ANS 1) We first understand the meaning of Chiaroscuro, it is technique employed in the visual arts to represent light and shadow as they define three-dimensional objects. Caravaggio & his followers used a harsh, dramatic light to isolate their figures and heighten their emotional tension. The word chiaroscuro is Italian word for light & shadow. It's one of the classic techniques used in the works of artists like Rembrandt, da Vinci, and Caravaggio. It refers to the use of light and shadow to create the illusion of light from a specific source shining on the figures and objects in the painting.

it refers to modelling of light in paintings, drawing and prints; extreme contrasts between dark and light areas creating illusions of volume, particularly that of the human body. Commonly used in religious paintings, the underlying principle is that solidity of form is best achieved by the light falling against it. Chiaroscuro describes how the painter depicts the 3-D illumination of objects thus creating the illusion of solid forms. strong chiaroscuro became a popular effect with what appears as divine light, illuminating the compositions of artists.

Darkened subjects, dramatically lit by a single shaft of light from a one constricted source, was a compositional device developed by artists such as Caravaggio. Night scenes, later known as Nocturnes, was a painting style depicting the night, or subjects as they appeared, in a veil of light, candlelight, twilight, or in the absence of direct light. Its use looked back to earlier nort.

Illumination was a complex & costly process. It was usually reserved for special books: an altar Bible, to say. Wealthy people often had richly illuminated "books of hours" made, which set down prayers appropriate for various times in the liturgical day. Artists can create beautiful art works in other styles too..I personally believe the illumanated Manuscripts is still today a beautiful art work.

ANS 2) Artist can show different spaces , views or times in one of the art work in different shades.Light , colors & the shape of images . shade & light artist can depict well about the shapes of the art work in two or three dimensional . The other methods can be used is the combination of contrast colors light & dark, shades & light which connects to make three dimentional art work pieces.

There are two types space : positive : this is the space area that an object takes up & negative space is the empty area around the objects , A work of art can be analyzed by considering a variety of aspects of it individually. These aspects are often known as the elements of art. A commonly used list of the main elements include form, shape, line, color, value, space and texture.

Thus these are some of the ways the artists can depict their art forms.
