Project: Managing a dinner party
The case of Ahmad the liver maker

Julia and John JJ are going to give a dinner party on Friday evening at 07.00pm. Their two children, Jimmy and Jessy, are going to help them get ready. The JJs will all get home from work and school at 4.00pm. Julia and John have developed a project network to help them schedule their dinner preparations. Table below shows a list of the activities, the precedence relationships and the activity times in the project:

You are required to prepare a report for. This report needs to address the concerns of the following:
(a) Introduction
(b) Literature
(c) An explanation of the model and the methodology used (i.e. CPM and PERT).
(d) Display your estimated outputs using tables and graphs as well as network diagram.
(e) A discussion of the results estimated.
(f) Any other comments you feel relevant to the issues being addressed.
(g) Conclusion and recommendations.

Since the activities are probabilistic in nature, apply Project Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT). The PERT considers that the activity duration follows beta-distribution, for which the expected time and variance of the activities is determined as follows:
