Bewildered (bwd), funky ear (fe) and dreamy eyes (de) are recessive alleles on different chromosomes. A pure breeding bewildered, dreamy eyed mouse is crossed to a pure breeding funky ear, mouse, and the F1 mice are inbred to produce F2 progeny. What proportion of the F2 progeny are expected to be bewildered, but not funky ear or dreamy eyed?

The answer is 0.141, but can you show me HOW to solve this?

Answer:

bwd / bwd ; fe+/fe+ ; de/de X bwd+/bwd+ ; fe/fe ; de+/de+ ---Parents

bwd+/bwd ; fe+/fe ; de+/de ---------------------------------F1 (wild type)

F1 x F1---Inbreeding

bwd+/bwd x bwd+/bwd = bwd+_ (wild type-3/4) & bwd/bwd ( Bewildered -1/4)

fe+/fe x fe+/fe = fe+_ (wild type -3/4) & (funky ear -1/4)

de+/de x de+/de = de+_ (wild type -3/4) & de/de (dreamy eyes-1/4)

The proportion of the F2 progeny are expected to be bewildered, but not funky ear or dreamy eyed =(bwd/bwd; fe+_ ; de+_ =1/4 * 3/4 * 3/4 = 9/64 = 0.141

In mice, an allele for apricot (a) eyes is recessive to an allele for brown (A) eyes. At an independently assorting locus, an allele for tan (t) coat color is recessive to an allele for black (T) coat color. A mouse that is homozygous for brown eyes and black coat color is crossed with a mouse having apricot eyes and a tan coat. The resulting F1 are intercrossed to produce the F2. What is the probability of an F2 mouse...

In the Australian sheep blowfly an autosomal gene yellow (alleles y, y + ) determines the recessive phenotype yellow eyes. A pure breeding strain with yellow eyes is crossed to a pure breeding wild-type strain. The F1 flies from this cross are allowed to interbreed to produce the F2 generation. 41 The phenotype of the F1 flies will be A. wild type B. yellow eyes C. recessive D. y + y 42 The F1 flies are testcrossed, the phenotypic ratio...

Please show on a punnet square. Also what is the punnet dihybrid cross for the F2 generation. In German cockroaches, a curved wing (cv) is recessive to a normal wing (cv+), A homozygous cockroach that has normal wings is crossed with a homozygous cockroach that has curved wings. The F1 are intercrossed to produce the F2. Assume that the pair of chromosomes containing the locus for wing shape is metacentric. Draw this pair of chromosomes as it would appear in the parents, the F1, and each class of F2 progeny at metaphase I of meiosis. Assume that...

EXPLAIN SHOW WORK PLEASE. A recessive allele (d) of the dancer gene in mice affects the inner ear and results in mice with balance problems and an unusual gait. You learned in class that the A gene, which is on a different chromosome, has an allele, AY,that is dominant for yellow coat color and recessive lethal. You cross a pure-breeding line of dancer mice that have normal coats to a strain with normal gait and yellow coats. In the resulting...
