Answer #1

a) in circular motion, for the object to remain in the same path a force must be applied on the object that points towards the normal. this force is called the centripetal force. always directed towards the center.

so the first statement is false.

b) in circular motion the direction of linear velocity at a point is tangential to that point. hence the water drops will fly away tangentially.

statement is true.

c) the magnitude of gravitational force exerted between two objects remains the same as long as the masses and the distance between the masses remains the same.

so this statement is false.

d) the real reason for the weightlessness is that the spaceship is moving with very high speed so that the the downward gravitational pull is not felt.

so statement is false.

e) let N be the normal reaction which is the apparent weight acting upward, mg acts down wards, ma acts upward where a is the acceleration

N = mg +ma

hence apparent weight is greater than mg.

so statement is false

    Consider the following statements regarding NMR spectroscopy. Determine whether each each statement is true or false. Spin-spin splitting can occur over many bond lengths in a molecule. NMR spectroscopy requires a nucleus having non-zero electron spin. Shielding occurs when electrons near a proton are induced to circulate by the applied field. This electron field opposes the applied field. A typical value for the chemical shift of aromatic protons is 7.5.
