  • since all the solutes are in water Kf = 1.86

    for glycerin ΔTf = 1.86 X .04 X 1 = 0.0744 ; so it freezes at 075 oC

    for KBr ΔTf = 1.86 X .02 X 2 = 0.075 so it also freezes at 075 oC

    for phenol ΔTf = 1.86 X .03 X 1 = 0.0558 so it freezes at 056 oC

    The order of freezing is phenol first then the other 2 freeze at the same temperature as the temperature drops. Phenol has the highest freezing point the other 2 have equal lowest.
