1) 1 Sample – for your 1 sample data, create a frequency distribution, choosing the number and structure of the classes. You may choose to do a frequency distribution, relative frequency distribution or cumulative frequency distribution. This is up to you. Decide which would best fit your data.

Next, find a graph to display your data. Histograms will probably be the most convenient. You should also discuss the shape of your distribution (normal, skewed right, skewed left, uniform, none of these).

2) 2 Sample – Organize your data into a frequency distribution (1 for each sample, athletes and non-athletes), make sure the classes are the same for each. Then display each set of data into a separate graph. Again, the histogram will probably be the best choice.

Next, display your data in a paired data graph like a line chart. Any graph that will show both sets of data in the same graph.

Answer #1

Answer to question number 1)

There are total of n = 30 values in this data set

let the bin values = 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 so we get 5 class intervals

The frequency table for it is as follows:

R.Fre C.fre Class interval Frequen 0 to 1 1 to 2 2 to 3 3 to 4 4to 5 10 16.67 23.33 40 10 15 27 30 7 12 R.freq (freq of class/total freq) 100 C.freq freq og present class sum of freq of previous classes

.

The histogram for the given frequency distribution is as follows:

This histogram does not reflect a normal bell shaped curve, indicating that the data is not normally distributed

We observe that the tail stretches towards the left side, indicating that the data is left skewed.

    Recent research indicates that the effectiveness of antidepressant medication is directly related to the severity of the depression (Khan, Brodhead, Kolts & Brown, 2005). Based on pretreatment depression scores, patients were divided into four groups based on their level of depression. After receiving the antidepressant medication, depression scores were measured again and the amount of improvement was recorded for each patient. The following data are similar to the results of the study. Low Moderate High Moderate Moderately Severe Severe 1.2...
