We will assume parametric setup for this problem

Here we will use ANOVA test to check whether the means are different.

that is to test,

H0: means of all 4 groups are same

vs

H1: at least 2 groups are different means

To test this we will use Excel software and the output is

Anova: Single Factor
SUMMARY
Groups Count Sum Average Variance
Column 1 48 377.7 7.86875 13.6255984
Column 2 48 348 7.25 8.538297872
Column 3 48 177.9 3.70625 3.821449468
Column 4 48 168.3 3.50625 2.384428191

Total 2093.633 191

Test statistic: F=35.73069977

p-value: 0.00000

decision: we will reject H0 and claim that groups has significantly different means.

After receiving the antidepressant medication, depression scores were measured again and the amount of improvement was recorded for each patient.
