Training new employees can have considerable expenses for a company both in terms of capital investment time commitments. Being able to realize the best possible outcome from our training programs requires the understanding of SMART goals because it allows the division of a complex task and structure into smaller, more accountable, and achievable parts. SMART goals create the knowledge for specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-based characteristics, something every plan requires to add value rather than become a hindrance to operational capabilities.

The decision-making process should always be made based on the collected data while individualized values such as the requirements of the task at hand as well as the need of the company, and its stakeholders are considered.

Also, being able to measure the progression, reception, and benefits of the plan in motion allows for better considerations when bringing changes to its implementation to suit the needs of most number of employees better. Furthermore, the combination of relevance, specificity, and time-based attention provides a more concise and better-designed approach to any number of given problems.
