Acetylcholine is a common neurotransmitter released at the synapse. Predict the consequences for muscle activation of decreased acetylcholinesterase activity (degrades acetylcholine at synapses) at nerve-muscle synapses.

Acetylcholine plays a vital role in muscle contraction. Acetylcholinesterase breaks up acetylcholine into acetate and choline. This phenomenon is responsible in terminating the stimulation of the muscle. The catalyst acetylcholine achieves this by breaking down the compound into different compounds and expelling them from the nerve intersection. If acetylcholinesterase is not able to breakdown or expel acetylcholine, the muscle can keep on moving wildly.  Repeated and uncontrolled firing of electrical signals are responsible to cause uncontrolled, rapid twitching of some muscles, convulsions, paralyzed breathing, even death.
