Yes, if your center of gravity is no longer above your feet, the torque due to gravity will rotate your body. Any force from your feet would cause a torque in the same direction as the torque due to gravity.

So whenever you bend over, you actually unconsciously position your body's center of mass within your body's area projection onto the ground.
