what type of research methods and data does the Cornell university survey research institute use. what projects are the involved in? cite your sources
The Cornell University Survey Research Institute provided survey research, data collection and analysis services to a academic, non-profit, governmental, and corporate organisations.
The SRI uses survey research methodology, and various types of data collection methods. They use an automated system and have the following methods for data collection. This automated system is called CASES (Computer-Assisted Survey Execution System) and it is technologically the most sophisticated in Computer-Assisted Telephone Interview used by academic research centers which adheres to the highest scientific and academic standards. Using this CATI system, SRI collects data through following modes:
Telephonic
In this mode, data is collected using Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing system of CASES.
Personal Interviews
In this mode, data is collected using CAPI (Computer-Assisted Personal Interviews) of CASES.
SAQ (Self-Administered Questionnaires)
These studies are primarily conducted via US Mail, where respondents self administer the questionnaires and SRI does data entry of the received responses using the CASES system.
Web Surveys
In this method, surveys for data collection are posted on web pages targeting specific sample populations. Respondents receive email notification with unique identification numbers and passwords through which they can log in and fill the survey.
They are involved in a plethora of projects in Health Care, Education, Social Sciences etc. Various Local, State, Government & Federal project as well as corporate projects related to customer & employee satisfaction etc. For example, one of their projects is "Hiring Policies and Practices in the US" and SRI will collect information on firm policies and practices which shape the hiring process for workers in the United States. This project will cover recruitment practices, evaluation strategies, hiring priorities, HR policies, and firm demographics to better understand the range of approaches used to hire employees.

Before writing a research paper you should write The Methods. The methods is one of the briefest sections of a research paper. In the methods, you need to explain how and why you gathered and analyzed data in enough detail that the reader could easily replicate your study. At this stage, you are only proposing how you will do this but note that after you collect data (perform the methods), you will revise this section into past tense to reflect...
