Answer #1

Within classroom observations, it is observed that expectations are communicated using different means and channels to set the behavior of the individuals as a part of behavior management. It helps individuals to perform in a way so that expectation are met at different parameters. The first way that is observed is group notification via emails or printed copies on the notice board. It helps everyone to read, acknowledge and clarify the expectations being kept from them. The second way is the nonverbal communication used to set the expectations. It is observed to be on an individual basis or group basis and includes the reflection of past performances. It includes body languages, eye movements that set the tone of communication. It has brought necessary behavioral changes that is the part of behavioral management exercise.

I find these strategies to be effective, as it lets the individuals know what is expected out of them. Though there is a scope of improvement in it. Regarding this, I have following suggestions for improvement.

1. Communication of Expectations should be interactive in nature and it should not be a one time exercise.

2. Personalized communication of expectations, should be delivered to achieve more effectiveness.

3. A group should be formed on the basis of strengths and weaknesses so that expectations are duly met by them.
