Answer #1

Liver function test is performed to check if the functioning of liver is proper ,or if there any damage to the liver tissues. It is done by measuring the several enzymes which are produced in liver.:

(i) ALT(Alanine transaminase )
(ii)ALP (Alkaline phosphatase)
(iii) AST(Aspartate transaminase)
(iv) Albumin Protein
(v) Blilirubin

ALT, ALP and AST are produced by liver tissue for the breaking protein into aminoacids ,metabolizing amino acid, and fighting liver against foreign infections; If these eznyme level rises in the Blood plasma ,it shows that there is the tissue damage inside the Liver. While Albumin protein is produced by liver for maintaining the Osmolarity of blood and act as buffer,If the albumin level decreases below the certain point ,it shows the Liver is unable to produce the Albumin proteins. On other hand Level of bilirubin is formed as a byproduct of Hemoglobin protein destruction ;itis excreted through the liver .Thus elevated levels of bilirubin in plasma indicate liver damage .
