Cyclohexanecarboxylic acid is more polar than the
1-cyclohexylethanol. It is because of the reason that in the acid group it have both the hydrogen acceptor that is electronegetive oxygen group -c=o as well as hydrogen donating group that is -oh so it can make more hydrogen bond as compare to the oh group in alcohol moiety. So more the no of hydrogen forming ability higher will be the polarity of particular reactant.
Which is more polar and why? - Ferrocene, acetylferrocene or diacetylferrocene Which compound would elute off a column first and which compound would elute off a column last and why?
Consider the GC chromatogram below. Which compound is more
polar, compound A or compound
B?
Question 2 1.5 pts Consider the GC chromatogram below. Which compound is more polar, compound A or compound B? time O compound A is more polar compound B is more polar
Between benzophenone and 4-nitro benzaldehyde which compound is more polar and which compound would elute first in column chromatography, which compound would be higher on a TLC plate and why?
Which is more polar, Acetone or Water? Explain why.
which is more polar? 4-methylcyclohexanol or 4-methylcyclohexene? And why?
Explain why the most polar compound layer stays in the organic layer, while the less polar compounds go into the aqueous phase. (This is for a liquid-liquid extraction) The most polar compund is caffeine and the solvent is ethyl acetate. I know it has to do with the caffeine not being able to deprotonate but I’m still confused and would like more information on why is can’t deprotonate.
who is the more polar? why? Cho
Which is more polar ClK or LiBr? Answer is ClK but I don't know why. Please provide explanation!
The column chromatography procedure for the separation of a polar and a non- polar compound calls for sequential elution with the following solvents: hexane, 70:30 hexane : acetone, acetone and 80:20 acetone : methanol. Why it is important to follow this solvent order?
20) Which compound would be most acidic? a) HO b) ОН OH e) н H
