  1. A chemist created a solution with a PH of 6.3. The solution needed to be within a range of 7.3 - 7.5 for human consumption. What must the chemist do to make the solution acceptable?

##.A student needed to identify a product that had ionic bonds in nature and covalent bonds in nature. What two substances she can use to achieve her goal?

# .An intern was given a polysaccharide and was asked to create a disaccharide and monosaccharide. What product the intern can use to satisfy their lab assignment?

Answer #1

1). Distilled or pure water has a 7 pH, which means both are the neutral solution.   If we have to increase the pH of any solution, we must have to add an alkaline solution or substance, such as NaOH (sodium hydroxide). Or if we have lower the pH, then we have to add an acidic solution or substance such as lime or lemon juice to it. So the chemist can add some alkaline substance to its prepared solution to make it in a range of 7.3 to 7.5 for the consumption of humans.

2). The products with ionic bonds can be dissolved in the water and are the good conductor of the electricity whereas the covalent compounds are not a water-soluble and bad conductor of the electricity. With the help of water and electricity, the student can easily identify the ionic and covalent compounds.

3). Hyaluronic acid, chondroitin, and heparin are the examples of heteropolysaccharides which are made up of repeating units of mono or disaccharides. From these compounds, an intern can create a monosaccharide as well as a disaccharide.

Question to answer from the lab: What aspect(s) of the approach taken is/are NOT especially green? What changes might be made to make the overall process greener? The Lab Experiment Summary Polyethylene glycols such as PEG-400 are currently of great interest to organic chemists, since their application as reaction solvents is very intriguing (1). PEG-400 is non-volatile and nonflammable in nature, and also possesses important properties such as recyclability, ease of work-up, thermal stability and economical cost. In addition, the...

    10. Write a one-page summary of the attached paper? INTRODUCTION Many problems can develop in activated sludge operation that adversely affect effluent quality with origins in the engineering, hydraulic and microbiological components of the process. The real "heart" of the activated sludge system is the development and maintenance of a mixed microbial culture (activated sludge) that treats wastewater and which can be managed. One definition of a wastewater treatment plant operator is a "bug farmer", one who controls the aeration...

Please read the article and answer about questions. You and the Law Business and law are inseparable. For B-Money, the two predictably merged when he was negotiat- ing a deal for his tracks. At other times, the merger is unpredictable, like when your business faces an unexpected auto accident, product recall, or government regulation change. In either type of situation, when business owners know the law, they can better protect themselves and sometimes even avoid the problems completely. This chapter...
