4. In the equation CH4+2O2=CO2+2H2O

Carbon in the reactants side is losing hydrogen to become carbon dioxide. So carbon is getting oxidized. Oxygen is gaining hydrogen to become water. So oxygen is getting reduced.

Na + Cl=Na+ +Cl-

A substance is oxidized if it gains electrons. A substance is reduced if it loses electrons. Thus according to the above reaction Sodium is reduced as it loses electron and chlorine is oxidized if it gains electrons.

Energy+6CO2+6H2O=C6H12O6 + 6O2

In the above reacction Water is oxidized in photosynthesis, which means it loses electrons, and carbon dioxide is reduced, meaning it gains electrons.

5 Glycolysis where six-carbon sugar gets converted into two molecules of pyruvate a three carbon organic molecule. In this reaction ATP is made and NAD+ is converted to NADPH is a substrate level phosphorylation.

Kerbs Cycle The acetyl CoA made in the last step combines with a four-carbon molecule and goes through a cycle of reactions, ultimately regenerating the four-carbon starting molecule. ATP, NADH and FADH2 are released. It is a substrate level phosphorylation.

The last type of reaction is the oxidative level phosphorylation. The difference between substrate level phosphorylation and oxidative level phosphorylatio is that in substrate level phosphorylation ADP is converted to ATP by the direct transfer of a phosphate group.

Oxidative phosphorylation has a middle men in the form of NADH and FADH2.
