Answer #1

1. Substrate level phosphorylation

In glycolysis, pyruvate kinase in the presence of magnesium and potassium ion catalyses the transfer of a phosphate group from phosphoenolpyruvate (PEP) to ADP thereby forming ATP and pyruvate.

2. Substrate level phosphorylation

In TCA cycles, the cleavage of thioester bond of succinyl - CoA is coupled with the phosphorylation of ADP into ATP catalysed by Succinate Thiokinase

3. Oxidative phosphorylation

As the process itself reflects, the electrons from electron carriers like NADH are transferred through Electron Transport Complex to oxygen , to form water. This process produces ATP through the pumping of protons across the ATP synthase.

Which of the following is correct? O Most of the ATP are produced by substrate-level phosphorylation. O Glycolysis relies on substrate-level oxidation for the four ATP produced in this pathway. O Most ATP from cellular respiration are produced directly in the citric acid (Krebs) cycle. Each FADH2 yields about 1.5 ATP via oxidative phosphorylation. Submit Request Answer
