Answer #1

Ans-6.) False ...Anaerobes can make ATP and use it as source of energy.

In anaerobic respiration final electron acceptor is a compound other molecular oxygen.

And -7.) Both glucose and ATP are the reactants of the first reaction of glycolysis and the reaction is carried out by Hexokinase to glucose -6- phosphate .

Ans-8.) All of the high energy products can be used by the anaerobes as an stored form of energy and energy can be harvested from them either directly such as ATP or indirectly by oxidizing the reduced energy equivalents such as NADH, or oxidizing pyruvate.

Ans-9 .) In order for any endergonic reaction to proceed it must be coupled with some exergonic reaction. Virtually Energy released by an exergonic reaction is always more than required by endergonic reaction so the extra energy is usually lost as heat.

Ans-10.) Both allosteric and end product inhibition . CTP which is the final product , inhibits the activity of ATCase .CTP binds to the regulatory site of the enzyme other than substrate binding site , in order to inhibit the enzyme.

QUESTION 1 Imagine you want to get rich by genetically engineering tobacco plants to produce acai berry juice. To do so, you insert the genes for each of the enzymes in the hypothetical acai synthesis pathway, the first step of which is (hypothetically) conversion of glucose to fructose. The challenge is that glucose must be maintained at or above a minimum concentration or the plant will die because it can no longer make ATP. For the reaction pathway shown below,...
