Answer #1

1) Aging is associated with the way body controls sodium and water levels. This includes decrease in thirst, decrease in urine concentrating ability and removal of water and electrolytes.

During increased salt diet , normally excessive salt is removed out of the body by producing more urine. But in older people this can't be regulated properly causing disorders like hyponatremia (due to water retention) or hypernatremia( due to sodium retention) .

2) mineral

3) Sodium chloride dissociates into sodium and chloride ions in the body. Sodium ions are basically found in the extracellular fluid. They maintain homeostasis in body by thirst regulation (water intake), regulating urinary excretion and by sweating.

Chloride ion is the major contributor of maintaining osmosis pressure gradient between the intracellular and extracellular fluid. It maintains proper hydration and functions to maintain the actions in the ECF leading to electroneutarlity.
