21. The regulation of the enzyme in which the effector molecule binds to a site other than the enzyme's active site is known as allosteric regulation.The site to which effector binds is known as allosteric site .

Allosteric regulations are important in living organisms because they either enhance or decrease the enzymatic activity in cellular regulation.They catalyse and control the rate of reactions in metabolic pathways. So the cells use almost identical enzymes and conserve its resources.

For example, when 2,3BPG ( bisphosphoglyceric acid) binds to the allosteric site of hemoglobin, the affinity for oxygen decreaes.

22. Feedback inhibition is the mechanism in which the enzyme activity is inhibited when more products are formed and slows down the production and balances the needs . Feedback inhibition does this by binding to the allosteric site.

Feedback inhibition controls the production of aminoacids by inhibiting enzymatic activity .For example, Isoleucine production is controlled by inhibiting the enzyme threonine deaminase .
