Answer:- The cerebellum ("little brain") is a structure found at the back of the brain, surrounding cerebral cortex occipital and temporal lobes. Although the cerebellum accounts for about 10 per cent of the brain volume, it comprises more than 50 per cent of the brain's total number of neurons.Historically, the cerebellum was known to be a motor organ, because cerebellar damage contributes to loss of motor function and posture, and most of the outputs of the cerebellum are motor system components.In the cerebellum, motor commands are not initiated; rather, the cerebellum modifies the motor commands of the downward pathways to make motions more efficient and precise.

The cerebellum does not trigger movement but it does lead to coordination, precision and timing accuracy. It receives feedback from spinal cord and other parts of the brain, including the cerebral cortex, sensory systems and combines these inputs to fine-tune motor activity.

The cerebellum is important to learn motor skills. The cerebellum plays a major role in modifying and fine-tuning motor programs to make precise movements through a cycle of trial-and-error (e.g. learning to hit a baseball).
